Fruit Yogurt Parfait

WHAT YOU NEED

Ingredients

Ingredients adjusted for 2 servings

  • 2 cups yogurt
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • ½ cup granola
  • 1 tbsp honey, optional
Before you start

Read the complete method first. Measure all ingredients for Fruit Yogurt Parfait, prepare the listed equipment, and separate raw-food tools from ready-to-eat food.

Equipment

  • Chopping board
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cooking spoon
  • Suitable pan or pot

STEP BY STEP

Method

  1. 1

Wash 1 cup strawberries and 1 cup blueberries under cool running water, then dry them thoroughly. Remove strawberry tops and slice the berries into even pieces using a stable chopping board.

  2. 2

Set out two clean glasses and divide 2 cups yogurt, 1/2 cup granola and the prepared fruit into portions. Keeping the granola separate until assembly protects its crunch.

  3. 3

Spoon a layer of yogurt into each glass, followed by strawberries, blueberries and a light sprinkle of granola. Repeat the layers, pressing nothing down so the colours remain distinct.

  4. 4

Finish with a few whole berries and, if desired, drizzle no more than 1 tablespoon honey across both parfaits. Check that everyone eating it is old enough for honey and has no dairy, nut or granola allergy.

  5. 5

Serve immediately for the best contrast between creamy yogurt and crisp granola. To prepare ahead, layer only yogurt and fruit, refrigerate covered, and add granola just before serving.

Nutrition note

Nutrition varies with portions and ingredient brands.

Troubleshooting

If food browns too quickly, lower the heat. If it is pale or watery, cook in smaller batches and allow excess moisture to evaporate before adding more ingredients.

Serving

Serve Fruit Yogurt Parfait at the temperature recommended in the method. Taste for seasoning only when the food is safe to sample, then add garnishes just before serving.

Storage and reheating

Cool leftovers promptly, transfer them to a clean airtight container and refrigerate within 2 hours. Reheat only the portion needed until piping hot, and follow local food-safety guidance.
